PlasDECK E-Series 500 Shiplap Series decking material was designed for DIY projects and on-site installation where the decking pieces are being applied directly to the boat. Boat owners, restorers and custom installers will appreciate the ease of PlasDECK E-Series Shiplap installation and will be impressed with the outstanding results.

PlasDECK E-Series 500 Series uses the traditional wood working method of shiplap joinery. Each edge of the material is formed to overlap the adjoining edge in a tight shiplap seam as each length of the material is laid on the boat. This new design has proven far easier to install than other “tongue and groove” materials and allows the adhesive to be pushed into the seam for a more cohesive and watertight deck. The average “handyman” will appreciate that the material cuts easily with a sharp utility knife and is worked with basic hand tools.

PlasDECK E-Series is applied to wood, fiberglass or metal using a marine adhesive/sealant that comes in a 20oz. soft sided “sausage”. While we recommend that you use the PT-2515 Adhesive Gun for ease and cleanliness, the sausages can also be cut and squeezed like a tube of toothpaste. The adhesive is spread using a notched trowel and once the decking is laid in place it is evenly bed using a flooring roller.

Open seams are then filled with PT-2508 Caulk Glue which comes in a 10 oz. standard tube. The caulk seams are smoothed flush with the deck and finish sanded once cured.

2” x 32’ Roll Shiplap Planking
Each piece is a single plank and a single caulking line integrated in to the material. Used mainly where the decking needs to curve laterally, especially towards the bow of a boat.

PE-523
6” x 32’Roll Shiplap Planking
The section consists of three planks and three integrated caulking strips and is used to lay the main body of the deck. As the pieces are pushed together, glue fills the small crevice in the seam, essentially making a solid panel.

This is the easiest product to install I have ever worked with!  I have absolutely no experience and have made minimal mistakes, all correctable.  The ship looks great and I can't wait to finish the back deck soon."
